About Me

Hi! My name is Beth and I help working mums lose weight naturally so they can feel more confident, have more energy and look forward to a healthy, happy and more fulfilled future.

Are you the mum that has no energy to play with the kids, who can’t keep up with them when you’re out for a walk? Do you hate what you see in the mirror? Are you worrying about the onset of Type 2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, Stroke? Do you feel like your life is on hold because you can’t do the things you enjoy or wear the clothes you want to wear because of your size?

I speak to so many women who say that they’ve been waiting for the right time to put their needs first, maybe it’s the children to grow up, maybe it’s for their own business to take off or maybe it’s…..just excuses because, the prospect of going it alone is too daunting.

I specialise in helping busy, working mums (like you and I) to lose weight so they can wake up every day with energy, motivation and confidence and to finally feel that they’ve got their life back.

I’m a certified Wellness Coach. I trained with The International Association of Wellness Professionals (The IAWP). The IAWP are global leaders in training wellness coaches like me and we believe that the holistic approach to improving a person’s wellness is effective when all key areas of life are addressed. The IAWP are recognised by the U.K. Health Coaches Association as quality providers of training for coaches up to the U.K.’s high standards.

 

If you’ve read ‘My Story’ you’ll know that I am passionate about helping women who are in a similar position to where I was a few years ago. My personal story might not necessarily be all about weight loss, but it was about putting myself first for a change and learning how to do that in order to look after my long-term health.

Maybe you’re here because you want to get your health back on track and you’ve made the decision that now is the right time to put yourself first for a change because if you don’t look after yourself, then how can you be fit and well enough to look after others?

Or maybe, like I was, you are feeling overwhelmed with all the roles that are involved with being a working mum and wife and you want some simple actionable steps to feeling like your energetic self again.

Contrary to what many people think, wellness coaching (or health coaching) is not just about meal plans and fitness gains, although they play a very necessary role in getting people well, the training I have received has taught me to listen to the client and guide them on a path of holistic wellness which covers all aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

Reaching your wellness goals doesn’t have to be confusing or over-whelming and can be very manageable with the style of coaching that I am trained in. I use the CORE Coaching Method which is a unique style of coaching that has allowed me to help others to reach their wellness goals and create lasting healthy habits which have changed lives.

My goal is to help as many busy, mums as I can so that they can become healthy, happy role models for their children and grandchildren. Through mums we can change the world!

My Story

This is my story about how I went from burned-out, fed up and feeling stuck to finding my peace and my passion and getting back my zest for life. Today, I finally feel in control of my life, I am excited for my future and I am happy with my mental and physical health.

I was an exhausted, burned-out mum in a full-time teaching career that I wasn’t enjoying because I felt that I was failing at all my roles: wife, mum, teacher, and even at the role of being my normal healthy, happy self!

I was happy in my role at work and was obviously doing a good job as Head of Department because they asked me to take on more responsibilities. Due to complications, this extra responsibility was not smooth sailing and it soon became too much to manage. I was spiralling into a constant state of stress and couldn’t seem to manage everything on my ‘to-do’ lists so the amount of work I was doing in the evenings and early mornings increased. After years of taking on too much, while also being a mum to 2 young boys, I started resenting work and I was irritable with the people around me. I was resentful because I felt like my life was on hold.

Looking back now, I was waiting for someone else to step-up and change things for me when all I needed to do was have a mind-set shift and take control myself.  But that realisation only came when things MADE me stop and take note. Of course, now I am grateful for the challenging situation I got into but at the time it was painful.  

I would be out with the family at the weekend and I would be feeling anxious and guilty about being away from my desk. My kids were asking me to build dens and play sports but I was so exhausted I couldn’t do anything but sit and cry. I remember telling myself that I was being stupid and I just needed to put on my ‘big-girl pants’ and get on with it. But that isn’t helpful when you’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t have the energy to keep up with the kids.

 

I was confused and angry and felt completely stuck. I started performing badly in my roles at work and things were starting to slip which made me feel like a total failure; I just wanted to run away from it all. After calling in sick one day and spending the day on the sofa in a pit of despair I knew something had to change. Simply by having this shift in my mindset, I felt empowered. The shift was this: No-one was going to sort this out for me. No-one was going to make the change for me. No-one was ever going to care as much about this as I did, so I had to be the one to change it! I got clarity on what really mattered to me and I wanted to take care of ME!!

Laying aside my fears of judgement, I decided to make changes at work and stepped down from some of my responsibilities. Immediately feeling like a load had been lifted, I took the decision to put myself first from then on and I took control of my life and my health.

With my renewed focus, I immersed myself in learning about health which helped me to change my diet, sleep and exercise in order to feel as alive as I do today and to have the energy and positivity that I do today. These small steps led me to where I am now and that’s not perfect but a thousand miles from where I was laying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and weeping into a cushion!

It’s now my mission to help all other mums who need to put themselves and their health first before it’s too late. By helping working mums, we can change the health of their colleagues, their children and their spouse!

 

My Approach

My goal is to help as many women as I can to lose weight,  transform from fatigued and fed-up to feeling fit, fabulous and focused.  So they can live a life full of energy and vitality, whilst being a healthy role model to their family.
